Peggy Diggs

Peggy Diggs normally does social-practice work, often pieces or processes that take place in public venues. But she liked the challenge of this project with ARTICO because it had a deadline (she loves those), it was a project of a very different sort for her, and it allowed her to delve into a process—crocheting–which she’s loved since she was a child. She used the time like a meditative exercise (each stitch is a moment) and a mental note-taking exercise; the focus was not just on crocheting randomly, free-lancing the forms, but also on trying to figure out some details of other, larger projects she’s working having to do with feminism and Whiteness.
