White Shino Teapot

Teapots to Molly are like a jigsaw puzzle– many independent pieces have to come together in order to create a cohesive and functional whole. This teapot is made from stoneware with a high content of chunky feldspar, and is glazed in white shino. During the firing, the atmosphere inside of the kiln traps carbon inside of the glaze creating a dark, smoky effect. This piece is fully functional and holds five cups, the perfect pot for any tea enthusiast, and an eye-catching display piece when not in use.
